Hi, I’m Bek!

I created In Spite of Pain to share my journey living with chronic conditions like Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, PCOS, and PMDD — and to create a space for women who want to understand their bodies, their health, and how everyday choices can support them.

Living with chronic pain and hormonal challenges has taught me just how confusing and isolating it can feel to navigate our health systems, find reliable information, and make lifestyle choices that actually support our wellbeing. That’s why I started this blog — to offer insight, guidance, and honest reflection based on my lived experience.

My Mission

In Spite of Pain exists to educate, empower, and connect women. I want to:

  • Raise awareness about women’s hormone conditions and chronic illnesses.

  • Provide practical, hormone-conscious, low-tox tips to support everyday health.

  • Encourage women to advocate for themselves in health systems that don’t always understand our bodies.

  • Foster a community of support, resilience, and belonging

What You’ll Find Here

  • Personal stories & reflections – the highs, lows, and lessons from living with chronic conditions.

  • Education & insights – information about hormone health, endocrine disruptors, and lifestyle choices that support wellbeing.

  • Low-tox living tips – products, swaps, and routines that are safe for your body and mind.

  • Community & connection – a space where women can learn, share, and feel less alone in their journeys.

Why This Matters

Women’s health conditions like Endometriosis, PCOS, and Adenomyosis are consistently misdiagnosed or under diagnosed. This is due to a combination of historical and systemic factors; medical research has traditionally focused on men, gender bias in healthcare leads to dismissal of women’s symptoms, and the complexity and overlap of symptoms make diagnosis challenging. Social stigma around reproductive health and gaps in healthcare education further delay recognition and treatment. The result is that countless women suffer pain, frustration, and preventable complications, often without answers or adequate support.

Every woman deserves to feel informed, empowered, and supported. In Spite of Pain is here to guide, encourage, and show that you can reclaim your health and your life — even while living with complex hormone conditions.
